I’m a Civil Engineer (M.Eng., Germany) with 17 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial construction projects across Europe and beyond. I believe a home should work for its owner — not the other way around.

My Engineering Background
My career in engineering began on real construction sites — designing structural systems, managing underground infrastructure, and overseeing residential and commercial builds from foundation to finish. After years of field experience, I moved to Germany to earn my Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), specializing in:

Here’s my actual review methodology:
1. Specification Analysis I read the full technical specifications — not just the marketing bullet points. I check rated wattage vs. actual power draw, material composition, IP ratings, thermal tolerances, and software architecture.
2. Engineering Standards Check I evaluate products against the same standards I apply in professional construction: build quality, longevity under stress, safety compliance, and value per dollar over the product’s expected lifespan.
3. Global Compatibility Assessment I understand the real differences between 110V (US) and 220-240V (EU/Global) electrical standards, regional plug types (Type A, B, C, F, G), and local safety certifications (UL, CE, BIS). If a product is great for the US market but problematic in Europe due to voltage incompatibility, I will tell you clearly.
4. Long-Term Value Calculation A cheap product that fails in 12 months is more expensive than a quality product that lasts 5 years. I always factor in total cost of ownership, not just the purchase price.
5. No “Junk” Policy I do not recommend products I wouldn’t feel safe installing in my own home or recommending to my own family. If a device has a poor safety record, bad firmware update history, or a manufacturer with no customer support, it doesn’t appear on this site — regardless of commission rates.
